How Far Is Kentucky Speedway From Here? [Fact Checked!]

You’ve been planning to visit the Kentucky Speedway for a long time and finally found the perfect opportunity! You and a few friends are going for a day of camping and rally driving, and you’ve been looking for a way to create some excitement. How far is Kentucky Speedway from here? That is the question.

Camping at a motorsports venue isn’t a new concept and there are plenty of examples of the practice around the world. The most famous example is probably the Nurburgring in Germany, which is often referred to as the “Green Hell” because of the forest surrounding the track. It wasn’t always forest, as there was originally a lot of farm land surrounding the track. The nickname “The Nürburgring,” however, didn’t become popular until the Second World War and even then it wasn’t until later that it started to be used frequently.

The Nürburgring is often considered one of the toughest rallies in the world, if not the toughest. It’s only natural that people want to experience what is supposedly one of the most challenging motorsports venues. There are other examples of motorsports venues that allow people to camp nearby, including Long Beach, California, which has quite a bit of history in the off-road community and also the Great Lakes Safari in southern Ontario, Canada.

The closest major metropolitan area is usually an hour or less away, depending on traffic. It isn’t always easy to connect with other travelers if you are traveling during peak hours, though, as there might not be any available spots when you arrive. If you are looking for a spot that is a little more remote, there are a few small towns that are close enough to get a taste of what camping at a motorsports venue is like. You can even visit one of these places on a tour bus if you are feeling extra adventurous!

Is It Remote?

One of the major attractions of the Great Lakes Safari is that it is totally remote and there is no cell phone reception or Wi-Fi. This is a real feat, especially since the organizers had to build their own cell phone tower. Without constant connection, you’ll have to remember to bring a landline or keep one in the office just in case. The remoteness of the location is what makes it popular with motorcyclists and off-road vehicle enthusiasts who want to get away from it all.

There are ways, however, that you can keep in touch with the outside world. A couple of pioneers, Ralph and Clara Hock, from New York, started a post office in 1899 and named it “Cabot Lodge.” The Hock family homesteaded this area in the early 1800s and used the post office as a way to keep in touch with the rest of the world. There was no television, no radio, and no cell phones even though they were invented a few decades later. Ralph and Clara Hock passed away in 1919 and since then, their great-granddaughter, Katharine, has continued the tradition. You can find the post office, named after the Hock family, in the middle of nowhere and it still relies on the U.S. Postal Service to this day.

Do You Need To Bring Sleeping Mats And Bedding?

Most of the people who visit the Great Lakes Safari will bring some sort of camping gear with them. This could include things like sleeping mats and sleeping bags, as well as camping tables and chairs. If you are planning on bringing a cooler, make sure that it is large enough to hold all of your camping supplies. Also, you might want to bring a small tarp to help keep your camp organized and covered. You could also bring a mosquito netting, in case you want to keep some of the nocturnal noises at bay. Remember, however, that the more you bring, the heavier you will be and the more difficult it will be to travel back home with your car.

What About Food And Drinks?

People usually camp for two reasons: to relax and to create excitement. If you are out on a camping trip with your friends, you might want to consider having some of the following items on hand:
