Looking for a way to liven up your next family get-together? How about a speed-themed get-together where you test your speed and your kids race against each other (and maybe even you as well)? You can do that with the official app for the famous American racing series, The Dakotas!
The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices, has everything you need to host the ultimate Texas Tea Cup in your own backyard. You can create teams, enter races, and follow the action live.
So go ahead and download the app right now. You’ll have fun and memories for the rest of your lives.
Create A Team
Before you start racing, you’ll need to create a team. On the app, click on the plus sign in the upper-right corner to bring up the team selector. From here, you can add drivers, fans, and more!
You can also customize the color of your team jackets and hats.
For my money, having the option to change the color of the car is the best part of this app. You can make it blue, red, black, or yellow (for the nostalgic fans), and it’ll update live as you paint it.
Enter A Race
Now that your team is ready, you can move on to the fun part: entering a race!
To do that, first click on the oval in the upper-right corner. From here, you’ll see a short list of upcoming events. Choose one that you think your team can enter and hit the green button.
These races are typically five laps or fewer. So it’s a good idea to enter a practice lap before the race to get used to the speed and the track layout. After the practice lap, it’s time for the real deal.
Watch Live
Once you’ve entered a race, you can click on the live button in the upper-right corner to switch to the live feed. This will display the cars in real-time and allow you to follow the action as it happens.

Play Game
The final step in setting up a race is to play a game. After you’ve entered a race and watched it live, you can click on the game button in the upper-right corner to bring up the in-game menu.
Here you can choose to play against the computer or against another player in a one-on-one race. You also have the option to view the stats for each of your races. There’s also an auto-play option that will help you get into the groove of things without having to think about everything yourself.
While this might not be the most exciting app you’ll ever download, it’s a must for fans of The Dakotas. And considering that it’s officially endorsed by NASCAR, it’s also a good choice for the rest of us as well!
