Ahoy, mateys! It’s been a while since we played Ocean Speedrro. Why? Well, it’s been super-busy-lamely getting settled into life in the US. But now that we’re finally living in our own boat, we want to dive back into our old games. Especially since it’s the best (and probably the most popular) game that we’ve played. It’s about time that we did an FAQ on getting the most out of this game. So here it is.
Q: What version of OSSR are you playing?
A: You’re playing the iOS port. They really did a great job on keeping the core gameplay of the console version, while improving on the interface and making it a little bit easier to use. The only real downside is that it doesn’t allow you to use all of the features of the console game (which is a bummer, because the console game is so much fun). But other than that, it’s an excellent iOS port.
Q: Tell me about the game. How do I play it?
A: Oceans Speedrro is a rail shooter where you control a character in a boat. The objective is to navigate your boat through a series of dangerous obstacles, defeat bosses, and collect power-ups along the way. Pretty self-explanatory. It’s a pretty popular game, and it’s been around for a really long time.
Q: How do I get the orb?
A: This is where things get weird. This is a tricky one, and it’s something that a lot of people probably haven’t figured out how to do yet. When you start the game, you’ll see a small glowing orb floating around in the distance. You can’t shoot it, you can’t catch it, and you can’t destroy it in any way. What do you do? You essentially have to wait for it to float all the way up to you. Then, when it’s close enough, you tap on it. This will start a quick countdown (usually around 10 seconds). Then, when the countdown reaches zero, you’ll get hit by an energy wave, stunning you for a few seconds. This is when you can shoot it, and the game will tell you that you successfully collected the orb.
Q: Why does the orb disappear if I don’t tap it right away?
A: When the orb is on the ground, it can be picked up and moved around by enemies and projectiles. So it makes sense that when you don’t tap it immediately, it’ll disappear and be replaced by a random item (most likely a bullet). You’ll have to wait until the item drops before you can collect it.
Q: Once I’ve collected the orb, how do I get more?
A: You’ll notice that, once you’ve tapped on the orb, there’s a small pulsing dot that’ll appear at its location (if the dot isn’t already there). You have to repeatedly shoot this pulsing dot to keep it going. The more you shoot it, the more it’ll grow in size. Once the little pulsing dot reaches a certain size, you’ll be able to shoot it again to make it grow even more. This is how you keep expanding the collection area until you find all the items that the game has to offer.
Q: What kind of armor do I need to wear?
A: Wearing armor in Ocean Speedrro isn’t that important. But if you’re going to be shooting lots of projectiles your whole life, it might be smart to pick up some protective gear. It isn’t that much damage, so even if you’re not using any kind of armor, you won’t really need it. But it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
Q: Are there any secrets to getting ultra-rare items or powerful weapons?
A: Yes, there are certain items in Ocean Speedrro that are ultra-rare. You’ll need to shoot these items a certain number of times to make them drop. The farther into the game you go, the greater the number of these ultra-rare items will be. Some of them are even hidden behind a certain amount of waves. So to get these items, you’ll have to navigate your boat through a series of tricky puzzles. Just keep working your way through, and you’ll eventually figure it out.
There are also some powerful weapons that can only be found in far-off lands. You’ll have to navigate your boat to those lands, find the hidden spot where the weapon is, and destroy a puzzle element to reveal the secret.
It’s definitely not easy getting all of these elusive items in Ocean Speedrro. But if you’re persistent, you’ll eventually figure it out. Don’t give up after just one or two attempts at a puzzle. Work your way through and see if you can find everything there is to find in the game. Good luck out there.
