A Brief History Of The Radius Rod
Radius Rods are named after their designer, Reginald S. Tichenor. Unlike most other designs that were made popular in the 1930s, the Tichenor design continued to grow in popularity well into the 21st century. This is most likely due to its distinctive look and the fact that it offers a higher quality experience than most other brands at a fraction of the cost.
How To Install Them In Your Boat
Since you’ll be replacing your boat’s existing rudder rods with custom-made Radius rods, you’ll need to first remove the old ones. The best way to do this is with an adjustable wrench. Simply undo the nuts that are holding the old rudder bar in place and move them to the side so that you can remove the bar._t
Once you’ve removed the old bar, you can measure and cut the Radius rod(s) to length. You’ll then need to mark the location of each end of the rod and drill a small hole at each end. This is where the stainless steel pins will go when you’re finished (refer to the image below).
Once you’ve drilled the holes, it’s time to install the new rods. To do this, simply push the pin into the end of the rod until it is tight and flush with the end. Then, use an adjustable wrench to tightly fasten the pin in place.
That’s it! When you turn the key, your boat will have brand new, improved handling! As you can see from the image below, the new rods give your boat an almost entirely new look.
