However, you need to be aware of a few things before you start using the card. First, the card does not provide any savings if you are not also a member of the MyFICO consumer panel. You can sign up for a free account here and start saving right away.
Also, the card does not give its members any special privileges. For example, you cannot get a free oil change or a discount on any type of service. This is because the card is sponsored by a gas station and the perks are associated with being a customer there.
Sign Up
To get the Speedway Gas Gift Card, all you need to do is visit the website and click on the Get A Free Card button. You will then be brought to a screen where you can create a free account or log in to an existing one. If you choose to create a new account, you will then be asked to fill out a short form with your email address, credit card information and a question about whether you’re a new or existing customer. You will then receive a confirmation email with further instructions. It takes about five minutes to set up your free account and you’re good to go.
Use It
Now that you have a free Speedway Gas Gift Card, all you need to do is find a place to use it. When you visit a participating gas station, you will see a big sign with the logo of MyFICO and the term “Gas Card” on it. Just look for that sign and you will see the orange logo with the silhouette of a car. When you go inside the station, there will be a small pamphlet with the Gas Card logo on it somewhere. You can show this to the cashier when you use your card.
In most cases, you can use the card at any time. However, there are a few restrictions. First, you cannot use it at any gas station that is owned by a chain store. For example, you cannot use it at Chevron or Shell stations. Second, you cannot use it when your tank is below half full. Finally, you have to pay for your gas with cash or credit card at the time of purchase. There is no discount for paying with cash or credit card.
Display It
After you use your card, you will receive a receipt through the mail. Keep this in a safe place because you will need it when you make a purchase at a gas station that accepts the card. When you make a purchase using the card, you can either pay with cash or use the credit card on file. In either case, the cashier will give you a smile and a nod as you leave the station.
The card will then be displayed on your behalf on the MyFICO website. You can also find it by searching for “MyFICO” on the site. When you display the card, you are required to provide a credit card number and a security code (exact match). Then, you will be provided with a temporary password that can be used to log in to your account on the MyFICO website. You can then choose to update your credit card information, review your transactions or take a look at your daily active status. In the event that your daily active status is below 80% available, you will receive a call or email from MyFICO with guidance on how to improve your credit score.
