It is no secret that NASCAR fans are passionate about their favorite drivers and the races they attend. When a fan buys a ticket to a race, they often have a clear picture in mind of how they want the infield set up. Unfortunately, the track itself does not always live up to their expectations. When the season is over and the last race has been run, it can be quite the letdown when the results are not what the fans want. That is why it is crucial to check out the in-race experience whenever possible.
An Unexpected Discovery
While on a cruise ship traveling to Italy this year, I had the opportunity to sit down with Jerry Lynch, the Director of Track Operations at Charlotte Motor Speedway. After we got to talking and described our shared interest in the sport, he offered to show me around the track and set up some interviews. One thing led to another, and before I knew it I was on my way to the front gates of Charlotte Motor Speedway. My expectations were definitely not high considering I had never been there and did not know what to expect. The last time I had been to the speedway, I was probably five years old, and I did not have any idea what was going on.
When I arrived at the front gates and was shown around the track by Mr. Lynch, I was surprised to see how close and accessible the seating was. With my limited knowledge of NASCAR, I figured the seats would be farther back since it is a higher speedway, but there were actually a lot of people close to the action. After our short tour, we stopped by the media center so Mr. Lynch could do some interviews, and then I was driven to my hotel. Even though I had never been there and did not know what to expect, it was a completely pleasant experience. I definitely recommend checking it out if you are in the area. It is a great race track with a lot to offer even if you are not a huge NASCAR fan. You can get there easily from either Charlotte or the surrounding area through the SouthEastern airports. You will not be disappointed.
Allowing More Than One Opinion
One of the things that makes NASCAR so great is that it gives the fans the opportunity to be engaged in the sport and the community. Everyone has an opinion about the races and which drivers perform the best, but it is also a place where people can share their ideas. That being said, there is more than one way to skin a cat, and in some situations it can be a bit overwhelming to sift through all the different opinions to find the one that applies to your situation. That is why it is so important to be objective when watching races and determining what your personal opinion is. It is an entirely different matter when you are at the track live and in person, but if you are ever unsure of whether or not an opinion is right for you, you can always check online forums or ask fellow fans at the track. That way, you will always have a clear idea of what is going on and whether or not your opinion is valued.
Racing Is A Family Affair
For decades, NASCAR has been a family-friendly sport. Families can bring their children to the races, and there are even kid-friendly areas where little ones can play while their parents watch the action. One of the things that makes NASCAR special is that it allows families to come together. It is not uncommon to see grandparents, parents, and kids at the races. Families can connect on a more personal level because of the close proximity of the seats, and they can also share in the excitement together. It is a unique experience that allows for more than one bonding moment.
The Experience Is In The Hands Of The Fans
One of the great things about NASCAR is that it gives the fans the opportunity to be involved in the sport they love. The closer the track is to where you live, the more you will enjoy the races and be able to influence the outcome. That is why it is important to find an online group of fans who live nearby and can strategize with you about how to get the best viewing experience at the next race. Even if you do not have a television set, it is still possible to follow the action through online streaming or radio broadcasts. That way, you can always be sure that you will get the best possible viewing experience wherever you might be. That is what makes NASCAR so much fun because the fans have the opportunity to be a part of the action even if they do not have the ability to be there in person. Imagine how much greater the excitement would be if the fans could actually see the action unfold before their eyes. That would be an experience that would not soon be forgotten.
Charlotte Is A Tricky Place To Sit
If you are a NASCAR fan, you know that the track you will attend is going to be difficult to sit down in. The problem is that not all the tracks are created equal, and some are more difficult to maneuver than others. If you approach the issue head on by asking the fans close to you for their input, you will have a clear idea of whether or not it is appropriate for you to sit where you are. Even though the fans might not always like what the corporate box people have to say, at least you will always have a clear idea of what is going on, and that is something.
For those of you who live in the area and are wondering whether or not to visit Charlotte Motor Speedway this year, I would give it a solid B. It is always a fun time at the track, but it can also be tricky to move around in if you are not used to busier streets. Not a lot of places are safe to eat or park in due to the high speeds, and it would be a shame to miss out on any of the action due to poor seat placement or an inability to move around. If you have never been there and do not know what to expect, I would suggest taking it slow and being observant. It is a great place to learn, and if you ever decide to visit, I hope you will have a pleasant time.
