Is It Still Raining In Texas Motor Speedway? [Answered!]

It’s been a while since we’ve updated this space, but today is the day! At long last, we have a new edition for all of you! A sunny day in Texas is a beautiful day, and it’s the perfect time to catch up on some much-needed reading. So pull up a chair, get comfortable, and get ready to learn.

The Final Season Of Aggregation

After 18 seasons (not counting the inaugural season in 2001), the NASCAR races at Texas Motor Speedway will come to an end this year. This season will mark the final one of three races at the facility (the other two being the Brickyard Circuit races), which makes it a bittersweet time for fans. Three more installments are on the books for 2020 – the first time the series will visit California in four years – but the future of the series is in question as the industry continues to shift to digital. The series made the right call and moved to Las Vegas for the summer, but uncertainty still looms large.

The Future Of NASCAR

The future of NASCAR is full of uncertainty as the industry tries to figure out ways to keep up with the times and find new audiences. The future of stock car racing itself is also in question as the popularity of NASCAR waned in the late 1990s and early 2000s as other sports (like the NFL and NBA) saw incredible growth in popularity. Still, stock car racing will always be a part of American culture, and even if it doesn’t have the same appeal as it once did, it will never truly disappear.

One thing is for sure: no matter what, Texas Motor Speedway will always be a part of NASCAR history and the hearts of its many fans around the world.

The 2020 season was the final year of the Truck Series, and it was only fitting that it would be the final year at this legendary Texas track. It wasn’t meant to be, though; the Truck Series returned in 2021 to Daytona Beach, in a desperate attempt to retain its original fan base. Although it struggled in the standings, the Truck Series did win one race, and it was arguably one of the best races of the entire season. The series will likely return to at least one of the brickyard venues for the 2021 season.
