Yes, it is now possible to purchase tickets for the big race at Moulton this coming Saturday night. I have included all the information you need to know about this years event below. Check the tabs on the right to see all the relevant details.
Who Is Racing?
The most recognizable driver in North America is back for another season. After a four year absence, Paul Newman will be competing at Moulton for the 62nd time. He is the all-time leader in wins at the 1.25 mile oval which opened in 1927 and will be turning 66 years old during the season. Paul is currently the oldest active driver in NASCAR. Will his health hold up? Only time will tell. He is joined by Danica Patrick who made her NASCAR debut last year and will be looking to make a big splash. She finished 4th in the standings while only competing in 10 of the 22 races. Team owner Steve Buscemi is back for his 4th season and is looking to make another big push for the championship. Together, these drivers have 77 wins at Moulton which is more than any other combination of drivers including Richard Petty and Bobby Allison. This is going to be a close race to the end. The owner of the #57 Chevy is Andy Petter, a long time friend of mine who also happens to be a fellow New Yorker. He is very excited to be participating in this historic race. I have known Andy for over 20 years. He has competed in all kinds of motorsport events including the 24 Hours of Daytona, and has won many of them. This is his 1st year participating in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup and I cannot think of a better way to start it off right than by running my friend and my former high school football coach in the biggest race of the year. He will be representing the New York University Lions as well. NYU has a strong presence in the area. In fact, the majority of the teams are based out of state but take advantage of the short haul to the Big Apple to practice. This is a great fit and I know Andy will do well. His teammates include Danica’s father Patrick who is also competing in his 1st full season in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup as well. We have seen several young up and comers in the cup this year, and Andy will be looking to bring the rookie of the year trophy back to New York. This is a very exciting group to follow, especially in a shortened schedule with so many playoff races. I feel confident that even the most casual of NASCAR fans will find something to enjoy as we await the start of the 62nd running of the event.
