Is Speedway Top Tier Gasoline? [Updated!]

Once you’ve tasted the exhilaration of rocketing down a racetrack at high speeds, you can’t help but want to do it again. For those who live for that adrenaline rush, there are a ton of options for where to do it. From the nostalgia of driving down memory lane in your childhood home to a drive around the block for some quality street racing, there’s a track for everyone.

One of the best in the country is Speedway in Georgia USA. For those who live in the South or are traveling there soon, we’ve put together a list of everything you need to know about the legendary track. We’ll go over the layout of the track, which is one of the most iconic in all of motorsport. We’ll then move onto the rules and regulations of racing there, as well as some of the best fast food spots and cheapest gas stations around the track.

The Layout Of Speedway

Before getting into any rules and regulations, we need to discuss the layout of the track. Located in the Peach State, you’ll find yourself in a small town with a big stadium. If you’ve been there, you know exactly what we’re talking about. The layout is very simple, being made up of a pair of long straights, several turns and a very short oval that ends in a hairpin turn. This is one of the most iconic tracks in all of motorsport, having been around since the 1950s.

The Rulebook

Anyone who’s ever been to a racetrack in general knows that there are certain rules that go along with racing, and speedway is no different. In fact, the rules are pretty much the same as they were back in the day when the track first opened. While there are no longer any barriers between the drivers, all drivers are still subject to the same set of rules. These rules are:

  • One Car At A Time
  • Hand Brake
  • No Smoking
  • Obey All Traffic Lights
  • Dress To Impress
  • Family-Friendly
  • Follow All Instructions

The Food And Drinks

One of the best parts of going to the track is eating what’s available there. The options range from local restaurants, to gas stations that offer everything from ice cream to pizza. While most of the concession stands are actually gas stations with a small selection of food, there are still some that remain the same way since the early days – local restaurants, a doughnut shop and a corner BBQ. Even the souvenir stands offer a variety of fried foods and sweet treats for purchase. Of course, the drinks are available as well, with more than one liquor store on site and a bar/restaurant adjacent to the grandstand. It’s the perfect combination of foods and drinks for those who want to continue their journey after the race is finished.

Cheapest Gas Station And Best Bar-B-Que

As exciting as it is to live and breathe racing, it’s also important to have a good time in a safe manner. One of the most important things to consider is the gas stations along the way. Not all of them will have the best prices or the best service, so it’s important to know which ones have a reputation for being good. The best barbeque in the country is served at the Golden Corral, which has locations all over the track. They also have a drive-thru window, so you can order and pay for your meal as you pull up. Since this is a family-friendly venue, the kids will love the selection of children’s meals they offer and the giant toy trucks that they give away as prizes.

There are gas stations along the way as well that offer great prices if you’re traveling during the off-season. Additionally, some stations are open 24/7, which means you can fill up at any time, day or night.

If you’re thinking about visiting or moving to the South, then visiting Speedway is a must. Located in a small town in Georgia, this is one of the most iconic tracks in all of motorsport and a destination that all motorsport fans should visit at least once. It’s easy to get to from almost anywhere, with Interstate 75 running right through the middle of the state. With the Atlanta area only being an hour away, it’s a must that you take a trip there at least once in your lifetime. One of the best things about it is how different it is from everywhere else. There isn’t a boring minute on that track, with anything from stock car racing to drag racing taking place there. It’s one of the best places in the country to be a racer, but it’s also a place that you can fall in love with cars all over again.
