Return Of The Defending Champ
Last year, Chris Forsberg won his second straight championship at Kingsport Speedway. Since then, he’s been setting records and crushing tires in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series. On August 10th, Chris will be defending his title and trying to become the first driver to defend his crown three years in a row since the legendary Rick Mast. On paper, Chris is the clear favorite, but the pressure is on as he’s trying to hold on to his championship.
New Faces, Familiar Fights

Unfortunately for Kenny Burks, he’s going to have his hands full, and he’s going to have to prove himself all over again if he wants to keep the crown.
A Whole Different Challenge
This year, the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series is adding a whole new wrinkle to the competition. The modified kart has changed a lot, and it’s given birth to a whole new breed of drivers. The cars are heftier, faster, and definitely more nimble than their previous iterations ever were. Teams like JGL Racing, as well as the Speed Ventures team, are putting the modified kart through its paces, and it’s a whole different ballgame. A lot of drivers are finding it hard to adapt to the changes, but that’s what makes this season so interesting. The older generation of drivers is quickly being phased out, and the younger ones are simply not experienced enough to deal with the new challenges that come with the newer, faster cars.
This year, the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series is expanding to a six-race schedule, and that means more opportunities for young drivers to shine. The championship will be decided by the combined efforts of drivers aged sixteen to eighteen. These drivers will battle it out for bragging rights and a chance at the crown.
