The news website for the sports and entertainment complex announced that the New York-based band the Strokes will play a set before the start of the race. The Seekonk Ford 300 is a NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race that will take place at Seekonk Speedway in Massachusetts tomorrow. The race will be the first event of the 2020 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season. We know what you are thinking, “the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour doesn’t start until June.” Not true! The season started back in February and all of the races were canceled because of the pandemic. NASCAR decided to push the season back a month and this is what we got.
The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour was created back in 1968 and is named after race promoter Wally Whelen. Wally was the founder of the Modified Tour and he built the speedway back in the 1950s.
The top flight of NASCAR racing in the United States is called the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. This is the division that the four major American television networks—CBS, NBC, FOX, and ABC—focus on. However, there is also a lower tier division called the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. This is where the Seekonk Ford 300 falls, along with the majority of the remaining NASCAR races. But, as we mentioned, the season started early so it is not entirely unexpected that there are a few early-season races.

You can buy tickets for the Seekonk Ford 300 at any time, but the latest time to buy them is Tuesday, April 15th at 10 AM EST. This is three days before the event, so you will have time to get your tickets in advance.
What Is The Most Popular Driver?
There are a few popular drivers in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. They are Matt Kenseth, Jack Beckman, and Brendan Gaughan. This year, Matt Kenseth has taken the lead in both the fan-voted and official driver standings. So far this season, he has four wins, nine top fives, and 13 top 10s. In 2020, his team, “Team Penske,” has won the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour championship five out of six years. He is also a two-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion. So to say that he is popular is an understatement!

Seekonk Speedway is a large, outdoor speedway in Massachusetts, about an hour north of Boston. The 3/8-mile track is known for its huge annual festival called the Seekonk Big Apple Festival which takes place in October.
