It’s one of the most iconic American sports events of the year. The smell of hot asphalt, the sounds of car engines revving, and the sight of colorful billboards filled with stars and stripes – all of this can be found at the Texas Motor Speedway every Fourth of July.
The speedway in Fort Worth attracts more than a million people every year – and it’s not hard to see why. The biggest race of the year is such a thrill to experience, and the whole venue is beautifully designed with the perfect combination of historical significance and modern luxury.
Many visitors and locals alike look forward to the Texas Motor Speedway each year, but a lot goes into making this year-end event special. For one, the food and drink offerings are incredible – and a great way to top off a long day of racing. The crowds also help make it feel more like a party than a race. People dress up and have fun, and it really brings the city of Fort Worth and the entire state of Texas proud!
So what can I bring into Texas Motor Speedway? Here’s a short guide to what you can and can’t bring to the event, based on the current rules and regulations. Be sure to check with the venue about any possible additional restrictions.
What Can I Bring?
There are essentially three categories of items you can bring to the 2019 Texas Motor Speedway. The first is your regular outfit – whether it’s a collared shirt for the men or a skirt or dress for the ladies. Jeans or similar slacks are acceptable as well. You will have your pick from the full range of fashion accessories and clothing for both men and women. This category includes tank tops, lingerie, swimsuits, and so on.
Most importantly, you must have your ID card and a valid form of photo identification. In some cases, you will be asked to show proof of residency as well. Check with the Texas Motor Speedway website for the specific rules and regulations regarding what you can bring inside the speedway.
What Can I Bring?, part two
The second category of items you can bring to the Texas Motor Speedway are the necessities for the race weekend. This includes, for men, a suit or a coat and tie, and for women, a swimsuit or a two-piece swimsuit. Both options are fully covered by insurance. The rules regarding what you can bring in this category are the same as for your personal items.
Here is a short list of what you can bring in this category:
- Men’s suit or sport coat
- Tie
- Bikini or two-piece swimsuit
- Women’s sport coat
- Swimsuit (with straps or straps removed)
- Thong
- Hoochie coochie
- Boy shorts
- Bag
- Sunscreen
- ID card
If you plan to drive to the speedway, you also need to bring your driver’s license and a credit card to prove you’re an authorized driver. You can’t leave the venue without your wristbands, either. These are required for all attendees, so be sure to bring lots of extras!
What Can I Bring?, part three
The third category of items you can bring to the Texas Motor Speedway is the extra stuff. This includes, for men, a football, hockey, or rugby jersey with your team’s colors, a beanie, gloves, and a whistle. For women, you can bring a sports bra and bandana, as well as the aforementioned items. These are all fully covered by insurance, and you must have your photo ID to show security.
Aside from the ID, you will need to show a valid form of photo identification to get past the security checkpoint. This means a passport, visa, or other government-issued photo ID. Don’t forget to bring your medications and supplements along with you.
What Can’t I Bring?
Certain items are not allowed at the Texas Motor Speedway, for reasons that will be obvious to most. These include fireworks, laser pointers, swords, meat cleavers, hockey sticks, and bows and arrows. While the last item may not seem like a necessity, bear in mind that archery was once considered an integral part of hunting. So it goes without saying that you can’t bring a gun to the racetrack. Some of these items have been banned for decades, such as firecrackers, lasers, and explosives. Other items have been restricted, such as paintball guns and crossbows. Still, others have just never been allowed, such as swords and meat cleavers.
These are just some of the things you should know to bring to the Texas Motor Speedway. Be sure to consult the website or call the venue directly before the event to ensure you know what is and isn’t permitted.
