Atlantis Speedway is an online marketing agency that was established in 2015.
The company was co-founded by brothers Jonathan and Luke Turner. They’re both experienced digital marketers with a track record of helping global brands achieve greater commercial success online.
The company is headquartered in London with teams in New York City and Dublin. It provides digital marketing and social media strategy consultancy services to businesses large and small across a variety of industries.
How Does Atlantis Speedway Work?
We interviewed Jonathan and Luke Turner about the creation of Atlantis Speedway and how they approach marketing projects.
They told us that the primary focus of the agency is to “help brands achieve excellence in digital marketing, social media and e-commerce.”
To do this, they adopt a performance-driven approach, tailoring marketing strategies to boost a business’s profit and conversion.
“We believe in the power of smart marketing. We want to help businesses of all sizes find their unique place in the marketplace and engage with their audience,” said Luke Turner.
To start a marketing project with the agency, you’ll need to determine what you want to achieve, the metrics you’ll use to measure success and the budget that’s suitable for your project.
A key focus for the agency is to build long-term, trusted relationships with clients. To do this, they develop in-house thought leadership content, conduct industry benchmarking and analyze marketing performance to identify commercial success stories.
The Turning Point For Atlantis
In 2018, the brothers decided to formalize their business and established an S-Corp to legally structure their operation. They named their company Atlantis because they wanted to establish a clear identity that would help clients and prospects find them easily online.
They decided to name their new S-Corp after the mythical lost land because, in a sense, they were looking for a way to reposition their business to match their new identity – a symbol of strength and perseverance.
From a marketing perspective, they see the creation of their business as a “culmination of years of experience and hard work” that grew from a solo effort to a team of 15+ with offices in London, New York City and Dublin.
Where Do They Look For Clients?
At the moment, the Turners primarily source new business from a combination of organic search traffic and social media. They also look for opportunities to join existing marketing initiatives with large brands.
“We are always happy to work with brands that we believe in and that will help us to further develop our own business,” said Luke Turner.
With their unique combination of digital marketing and social media acumen, the Turners were not at all surprised by Google’s decision in 2019 to place their Boston Consulting Group headquarters in the London Science Museum. The headquarters are now a permanent part of the museum, making it the largest corporate headquarters in London after that of HSBC.
Their Key Differentiators
Based on our experience of working with them, we’d say that their main differentiator is the quality of their work. They’re very good at what they do and, as a result, get excellent results for their clients.
The other major differentiator is their performance-based pricing model. We find this to be both fair and transparent. You retain full ownership of the results you achieve and aren’t locked into expensive long-term contracts with demanding terms that jeopardize your profitability.
We’d also say that their use of data and analytics to drive marketing strategy is a differentiator. For instance, they use HubSpot to manage their client relationships and to track marketing and business performance. This means they can provide clients with actionable intelligence that’ll enable them to evolve their strategy over time.
The Birth Of A Trusted Advisor
While other agencies may advertise that they’re specialists in digital marketing and social media, we find that the majority of their time is spent on tasks that don’t necessarily fall within those categories – SEO, website design, content strategy, email marketing, performance marketing, social media and content production.
This makes them better positioned to provide an integrated approach to digital marketing and social media, supported by extensive industry knowledge.
They see their job as providing a trusted advisor to help businesses find their unique place in the marketplace. As a result, they approach each project with an open mind, looking for ways to assist their clients irrespective of their industry or the nature of their business.
The Rise Of An Industry Leader
It’s fair to say that, since the creation of their business, the Turners have emerged as an industry leader. Not only do they offer a unique combination of digital marketing and social media expertise, but they also have the academic and corporate experience to back it up. In 2020 alone, they’ve advised clients in multiple industries including healthcare, information technology, professional services, consumer goods and more.
According to Google Search, the first result in an organic search for “digital marketing agency” is the Turner Agency, followed by the Hootsuite Summit and the Agency Advantage. We’d say that this is very strong evidence that the public are recognizing the value that the public perceive in the Turner Agency.
Watch Out For
We’d advise prospective clients to be wary of agencies that claim to be specialists in digital marketing, social media or search engine marketing when, in fact, they do a lot more.
It is a major red flag when an agency boasts extensive experience, yet only focuses on the tactics and tools of the trade. Especially when they offer performance-based pricing, as the Turners do, it would be wise to be suspicious of any agency that seeks to up-sale you on specialized platforms, tools or platforms.
