What’S Happening At Charlotte Motor Speedway Today? [Fact Checked!]

Charlotte Motor Speedway is more than just a racetrack. The speedway’s mission is to entertain and educate its fans about motor sports while promoting a safe and friendly environment for all participants. The speedway accomplishes this through various events and activities offered throughout the year. Some of these events are annual, such as the Easter Bunny Pep Rally and the National Finals Rodeo, while others are sporadic, such as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Charlotte Auto Show. All these events help the speedway maintain its position as the #1 motorsport arena and #3 tourist destination in the entire country.

As you might imagine, a motorsport arena also hosts a large number of motorsport events each year. This year, the speedway will host 489 racing events, ranging from go-karts to Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series stock car races. Additionally, 160 different touring car series will make a stop at the track this year. This makes for a total of 639 days of auto racing—more than enough to keep even the most ardent fan busy!

New Trackside Cafe

Besides the racing, the speedway is also home to the annual NASCAR Hall of Fame induction ceremony and various parties and exhibitions throughout the year. One of the highlights of these events is the Trackside Cafe, which opened in 2012 to provide fans with an exciting new experience close to the action on the track. Like the rest of the speedway, the trackside cafe welcomes visitors 24/7. However, unlike the rest of the speedway, the trackside cafe is not a part of the museum and is, therefore, always open for business.

The menu at the trackside cafe offers something for everyone. There’s a small bites section that provides food for the kiddos, while the big kids will enjoy the fried chicken and barbecue offerings. For those looking for something a little different, the speedway offers an all-you-can-eat steak house called The Pit Room on the paddock side of the complex. This is a great place to enjoy a meal before or after a NASCAR race. The steak houses also provide an opportunity for former and current NASCAR stars to interact with fans and promote upcoming events and parties at the speedway.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series

The most exciting development in recent years at the speedway is the addition of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. The series’ first race will be held on Thursday, February 21st at the speedway. The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will provide fans with the best in open-wheel and touring car racing, in addition to NASCAR stock car racing. This will make the speedway a one-stop-shop for motorsport fans.

What’s more, the addition of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series increases the number of events the speedway hosts to 489. This makes it the largest motorsport venue in the entire country. No wonder the place is always crowded—the speedway is the best of the best when it comes to motorsport venues.
