Some of the more well-known tracks include Silverstone in the UK, Hockenheim in Germany, and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the US. Before the races begin, teams and drivers must qualify by finishing in the top four in a race or at least in the next two races. Once that’s done, the season begins and the drivers will be racing as often as possible. There are three main championship races that make up the majority of the season – the Indy 500, the Daytona 500, and the Brickyard 400. Teams and drivers can score point in these races individually or as a team. The season ends with the legendary ‘World Championship’. This is where the best of the best duke it out for the coveted title. The Indy 500 is the first of the season and it usually takes place in mid-May. After that, we have the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400 which are usually held in mid-June and mid-July, respectively. Finally there’s the World Championship which takes place at the end of the season in mid-October.
