Where Is The Best Place To Sit At Daytona Speedway? [Expert Review!]

If you have ever been to a Daytona International Speedway (DIS) event, you may have found yourself in one of the many sections of the racetrack known as grandstands. These are the sections of seats closest to the track where you can catch all the action. Depending on the type of car you are attending (e.g. NASCAR, NHRA, or Formula One) and how fast you plan on sitting there, the location of these seats can vary. But, generally speaking, the closer the better. And while you might find some good spots far away from the track, the best ones are usually within walking distance (less than 500 ft.) of the starting line (or other major turning points in the race).

The Camping World Truck Series At Daytona

One of the most popular series at all of the Daytona International Speedway venues is the Camping World Truck Series. This is one of the smaller venues at the track, with only a few thousand seats inside and far less outside. Camping World trucks are big rigs that are usually used for hauling campers or RVs (recreational vehicles). These are the cars that you may have seen at other racetracks, usually carrying large coolers of beer or other beverages for the drivers and their families/friends. At Daytona, these trucks are usually associated with the Rv Park located just outside of the speedway. The great thing about this series is that even if you don’t have a ticket, you can always find a spot outside next to an entrance gate where you can see the whole race (and get your drink from a vendor). Outside of the actual race weekend, parts of the parking lot where the trucks park has become a sort of “grandstand” for fans – with some concrete bleachers set up to create a more intimate atmosphere. In other words, if you ever want to sit down and get a good view of the race without having to pay for a ticket, this is the place to do it!

The Rolex 24 At Daytona

The Rolex 24 is one of the biggest races of the year at Daytona. It’s a 24-hour endurance race that takes place during the final weekend of February. It’s named after the Rolex watch, which is named after its original designer. Essentially, it’s the successor to the 24 Hours Of Daytona, which took place from 1964 to 1980 and was originally designed as a successor to the popular Daytona 500. (Before that, they just had the 500-mile race). Like the Daytona 500, the Rolex 24 features many iconic American cars and is one of the biggest draws for automobile enthusiasts, as well as people who just want to be near the track on race day. If you can get tickets to this race (which is extremely difficult), you will not be disappointed. And it’s one of the few “traditional” auto races that take place during the winter, so you can be sure that the temperatures won’t be affecting the handling of the cars too much. It has been known to reach into the 40s, so be sure that you are prepared for some chilly weather!

The Rolex 24 features a large variety of cars – from vintage to modern-day automobiles. It also includes the iconic American car, the Ford GT. This is an all-American vehicle that was originally manufactured in Dearborn, Michigan in 1967 and can trace its roots back to its design team, which included many famous Americans (e.g. Carroll Shelby, Dan Gurney, and Doug Yates). The great thing about this event is that even if you don’t have a ticket, you can always find a spot outside next to a gate where you can see the whole race. In fact, the parking lot where the cars park for this event has become a sort of “backyard” for fans – with some concrete bleachers set up, as well as a vendor selling beer and other beverages.

The NHRA Nationals At Daytona

The NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) Nationals is one of the biggest events held at the track. It features many different classes of cars and is open to the public, with no reserved seating. This is a great place to sit if you want to be near the track and catch all the action. And if you can get tickets for this event, you will not be disappointed. It also serves as the culmination of the season for drag racers. So even if you are not into cars, you can always find someone who is to tell you about all the exciting rides that you can take part in during the season!

On the heels of the NHRA Nationals, the track hosts the “International Kings Cup”, which is sort of like the Super Bowl of off-road racing. It is a 4-day event that features big-name American and international competitors. Many people call this one of the biggest off-road races of the year. And while it’s generally not open to the general public, it is a great place for people who want to be near the track on race day. You will find many different classes of cars here, including many buggies (e.g. jeeps, monster trucks, and more).

The IndyCar Classic At Daytona

One of the smallest venues at the track is the IndyCar Classic. This is an unofficial name for the IndyCar Series race that takes place at the end of August. It was once known as the Shell Championship Series Racing, which was the name of the predecessor to the IndyCar Series from 1975 to 1979. This series features many iconic American cars and is one of the most competitive in the world. While the series has increased in size and prestige, the IndyCar Classic has not. And that is probably due in part to the fact that it is the only “traditional” auto race of the year that takes place at this time of year. The track is usually quite hot and humid during the summer months, which makes for difficult racing. So if you want to see the best drivers in the country battle it out on a racetrack, this is the place to do it! Most people who go to this track do so because they love watching cars go fast, and maybe they even feel a little bit in the mood to race after watching all the movies about Richard Petty and the other legendary race drivers!

The Daytona 500 At A Glance

The Daytona 500 is the biggest and possibly the most popular single event at the track. It is the direct successor to the legendary Daytona Beach race, which was first held in February of 1959. It’s one of the oldest and most prestigious single-day events in sports. While it didn’t have the draw that the other events have had over the years, the fact that it is the “opening” race of the season (along with the Indianapolis 500) means that it is always a special event. Many NASCAR legends have debuted at the Daytona 500, including Richard Petty, Lee Petty, and David Pearson. In 2020, the race will be 50 years old, which is quite the accomplishment! It also serves as the kickoff to the season for NASCAR fans, as well as people who just want to be near the track on race day. Like the other events mentioned, the great thing about this one is that there is always somewhere to sit within walking distance of the track. And you might even find some good spots further away from the track, but the best ones usually are within sight of the starting line!

As you can see, there are a number of different places that you can sit at the track. Depending on where you want to sit and how fast you plan on driving, the best choice will be within your reach. And whatever your pleasure is, you will not be disappointed in any way by any of these venues…as long as you’re there on race day!
