The 2019 Crown Royal 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway was one of the opening races of the year. The race was held on the first Saturday of the year and had a 500-mile distance with the starting lineup drawn from the previous year’s standings. The race was won by Kevin Harvick who recovered from a bad start to finish first ahead of Kyle Busch and Joey Logano. The race was a wild one and saw multiple lead changes as well as several new rookies making their presence felt on the starting grid. This year’s edition of the Crown Royal 400 was the first of eight NASCAR Cup Series races that will take place in the Southeast. The 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season got off to a bang! On the second weekend of the year, the drivers came to Atlanta for the season opener. Kyle Busch took the pole, but Kevin Harvick stormed to victory ahead of Joey Logano and Scott Chaney. The following night, the drivers took the track for the first time this year as they geared up for the chase. After starting 4th, Harvick charged his way to the front as he went on to win his third straight race of the year ahead of Logano and Chaney. The season will now head to the Kentucky Derby, the Brickyard 400, and the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series finale at Atlanta Motor Speedway on October 27th. These are the first three races of ten in the 2019 NASCAR season that will be held in cities such as Lexington, Indianapolis, and Louisville. The last seven races will be held in cities like Charlotte, Chicago, and New York as part of the NASCAR Playoffs.

Based on what we’ve seen so far in 2019, it’s very difficult to predict who will triumph in the end. The competition is very open as we’ve already seen Harvick win the opening two races this year while the others have struggled, particularly Tony Stewart who has yet to win a race this year. A wildcard could emerge as any one of the 20 drivers currently in the hunt for the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup title could win the next few races.
